  • Zombies - by AM01

    Intoduction:

Watch your back, there are mad zombies, werewolves, aliens, ants and giant babies! Zombies is an RPG that can support up to 2 players. It has no battery-backed memory, but does have a password every few levels.

    Graphics [5/10]:

The graphics are average. There is absolutely nothing special about them. There is a reasonable amount of detail on house and characters, but it is blocky in some place. Another area where the game is graphically unstunning is the animations, jumping into a pool leaves the controls frozen while the character does a 5-frame jump into the pool.

    Music and Sound [5/10]:

This game does slightly better on music and sound. Music is good, but gets boring after a while, while sound is actually below average. The sound is almost the same, featuring power-up sounds, gun sounds and screams. This is about it.

    Game Play [6/10]:

There is little to excite in the game play section either. This game does not follow most RPGs but offer a unique mode where people are classed as objects. The aim is to collect as many people as possible. However, because the people don't move, once you know where they are you can do the levels quite quickly. Thankfully, the zombies and enemies do move, and you can shoot these with the many weapons you can get. There are good puzzles in this game, and there are many good bits, but the general idea is lost after you fail a level. The two-player mode is the normal game but with two people which restricts movement on the screen.

    Challenge and Replay [6/10]:

There is a good amount of challenge in this game, the only problem is that some of the 50 levels look the same and use the same techniques. But there is some variation, which makes this quite a hard game. The replay value is low. It is addictive at first, but after a while, if you get stuck you just get bored with this game.

    Conclusion/Overall [5/10]:

This game is just an average RPG. It includes nothing special, and with very little to offer a gamer. If you want a reasonable amount of challenge, this game is good, but the general repetition lets it down.
